Add or remove watermarks with AI — 100% in your browser
Upload an image to start painting
Paint over watermarks, then remove them
To add a watermark: upload your image, type your watermark text or upload a logo, adjust position and opacity — the tool applies it locally, no data leaves your device.
FreeToolHub Image Watermark is a free browser-based tool that adds text or image watermarks to photos, no signup, no upload.
About this tool
Add text or image watermarks to photos with 9 positions, opacity, rotation, tile mode. Plus AI-powered watermark removal — paint over any watermark and the LaMa model erases it. Free, in-browser.
Two-in-one watermark tool
This tool combines watermark adding and AI-powered watermark removal in one interface. Switch between "Add Watermark" to protect your images with text or logo overlays, and "Remove Watermark" to erase unwanted watermarks, logos, or objects using AI inpainting technology.
AI inpainting technology
The watermark removal feature uses Big-LaMa (Large Mask Inpainting with Fourier Convolutions), a state-of-the-art deep learning model. Unlike simple clone-stamp tools, LaMa understands image context and can reconstruct complex textures, patterns, and structures behind the removed watermark. The model runs via ONNX Runtime Web with WebGPU acceleration when available.
Brush-based precision control
The removal mode features an interactive brush canvas with adjustable size (5-100px), eraser mode for corrections, undo/redo support (up to 20 steps), and keyboard shortcuts. Paint precisely over watermarks of any shape, then click to let AI seamlessly fill the area. A before/after comparison slider lets you verify results instantly.
Complete watermark adding features
For adding watermarks, choose from 9 positions (3x3 grid) or tile mode for full coverage. Adjust opacity, font size, color, and rotation. Tile mode creates diagonal repeating watermarks across the entire image — ideal for stock photos and digital art protection.
Frequently asked
How does AI watermark removal work?
Our tool uses the Big-LaMa (Large Mask Inpainting) neural network model running entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. You paint over the watermark area with a brush, and the AI analyzes the surrounding pixels to intelligently fill in the masked area — seamlessly removing the watermark while preserving the original image content. No data is uploaded to any server.
Is watermark removal legal?
Removing watermarks from images you do not own may violate copyright law and terms of use. Only remove watermarks from images you own or have explicit permission to edit. This tool is designed for restoring your own photos, removing your own watermarks, or cleaning up licensed images where you have modification rights.
How accurate is the AI watermark removal?
The LaMa model is state-of-the-art for image inpainting and works excellent on most watermarks, logos, and objects. Results depend on the watermark size, position, and background complexity. For best results, paint slightly beyond the watermark edges and avoid masking large areas of detailed content. You can always adjust your mask and try again.
What image formats are supported?
Both add and remove modes support JPG, PNG, WebP, and BMP images up to 10MB. The maximum resolution is 8192x8192 pixels. Results are exported as PNG for maximum quality.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The tool runs 100% in your browser. The AI model (~100-200MB) downloads automatically on first use and is cached in your browser for future sessions. WebGPU is used when available for faster processing, with WebAssembly as fallback.
